The main event! Toast with us over cocktails, mocktails, beer, wine, and light bites.

Please note: Refuge's event space entrance is facing Windsor Street and is in the same building as Anvil Bar and Refuge's Cocktail Bar - don't be mistaken! There is a separate entrance that will be marked by a sign for "Cecile & Evan." Also, there is limited parking so we recommend ridesharing, however, there will be valet available if needed.

  • Toasted Coconut - Tiki-inspired Asian fare and cocktails - don’t sleep on the burger, but the cucumbers and lamb flatbread are a must-order!

  • Rosie Cannonball - Rustic Italian with fantastic wood fired vegetables. Don’t forget the honey cake! 

  • Tony’s Mexican - No-frills, down to earth amazing Tex-mex! Enchiladas are delish! Be careful with the margaritas though… 

  • El Tiempo - Higher-end Tex mex, the best fajitas in this solar system (Washington or Westheimer location)

  • Roost - Bistro-inspired, farm-to-table, cozy eatery - Evan’s prior go-to spot for 2nd dates

  • Squable - Modern American with stellar cocktails and creative bites. Mussel toast anyone?

  • Kata Robata - Sophisticated sushi spot, ours and many others favorite in town - Evan met Cecile’s parents here for the first time!

  • Nancy’s Hustle - Modern American award-winner in Eado. Must order: Nancy Cakes & lamb tartare 

  • Giacomo’s - Cozy Italian spot. Secret tip! Order 1/2 portions of the pasta so you can get more variety!

  • State of Grace - Oysters, martinis, and class… Cecile’s three favorite things

  • Da Gama - Portuguese inspired Indian tapas with great vibes 

  • Aiko - Fun and social high-end sushi spot. Must order: chicken karaage, waygu nigiri

  • Trattoria Sofia - Rustic Italian in the Houston Heights 

  • Oporto - Phenomenal tapas near downtown, best seafood curry in town? We think so!

  • Better Luck Tomorrow - funky casual bar with expertly crafted cocktails - Evan and Cecile’s first date spot

  • Julep - James Beard award-winning craft cocktails, ask for a “white mezcal Negroni” - it’s Evan’s favorite 

  • Anvil - A Houston staple, the pliney’s tonic will hit the spot! 

  • Buffalo Bayou Brewery - newly constructed three-story mega brewery

  • St. Arnolds Brewery - great beer, great vibes, great covered outdoor area - daydrinking spot alert!

  • Padre’s Wine Bar - excellent wine selection in a casual atmosphere - you’ll feel like you’re in a friend’s living room

  • Cedar Creek - neighborhood spot in walking distance from our home - great spot to sit outside and watch a game
